He was used by many but was still grateful
He was misunderstood but fought through
He was not accepted but still tried to be kind to everyone
He was used not by strangers, but by his friends…
He was ridiculed for not understanding things even when he understood everything
He tried to blend in but in vain
He tried to be more open but it made him more insecure
He kept up with the latest trends but was still not welcomed
He remained a tool of help but never a human who deserved happiness
He finally realized that the world is self-centered
When he asked for help, people turned their backs.
When he went quiet, people accused him of being arrogant
When he stopped caring, he was considered a narcissist
When he kept things to himself, they suspected something wrong
What they didn’t know was that they were the “something wrong”
Was he afraid?
Maybe
Did he show it?
Not at all
Did he indulge in self-pity?
Maybe
Did he have any idea what to do?
Not at all
More than anything, he was made to feel guilty even when it wasn’t his fault.
They went on and on and on and on till one day, nothing was left to exploit.
Every few hours, a blow hit him
Which took various forms
“Friends” betraying him,
Not including him in activities
Ignoring him when he didn’t serve their purpose
And he took it at all in his stride
Until one day, he couldn’t take it anymore
His heart turned to stone
And was not listened to anymore
His life became a blur
His mind became restless
His soul desperately needed to be calmed down
His pillow was evidence of his helplessness
His only wish now was for school to end
What had been his second home for years
Became a nightmare for him
Asking his own friends for succour became an ordeal
His life hung by a thread, of a few loved ones
It was the thread that still gave him support to live on
Maybe it was all his fault
Maybe it was him who was to be blamed for his condition
And now he was lost,
Lost in the sea of diffidence
Lost in thoughts of future
Lost in the comfort of home
Lost in daydreams
A quote kept him going
“This too shall pass”
And then he rose…
